Many of you may know that age old cliché , ―practice makes perfect‖. This is so true for dancing! At any given time, you can probably spot some of our students practic-ing their skills in the ballroom. However, we know that sometimes being stuck at work or other circumstances can prohibit you from coming in all the time… So what do you do? It’s easier than you think! Here are a few easy tips to help improve your dancing.
Mother always said ―stand up straight!‖ She was right. Whenever you walk or even sit, keep your spine straight! This will, not only improve your posture, but it will help you out in the long run to avoid unnecessary aches and pains.
Don’t get ahead of yourself! Whenever we walk, we want to keep the head over hour feet. Don’t let your head slack behind, forcing your pelvis forward— not useful or pretty! Also, you don’t want to lead with your head! When you dance, you want to keep your head right over your feet so you can keep your balance, no matter how large your step may be.
Aren’t those little ideas easy to do? You don’t need a big floor to work on all that. However, when you can make it into the studio, we are always glad to see you prac-ticing those techniques. We’ll see you there!
