History of Latin Dancing

The term ‘Latin Dance’ is a general term which includes a range of dance styles originating in Latin America, including Puerto Rico and Cuba. Some of the styles of dance included under the ‘Latin’ umbrella are The Cha Cha, Rumba, Merengue and Salsa, each of which has a unique history and style.

Latin Dance Music

Latin music is percussive, vibrant and generally high tempo. The timing and BPM (Beats per Minute) change depending on the style of dance you are learning. One thing that you can count on, regardless of style, is that when you listen to this music, you can’t help but want to get up and move your body!
